Briefing with OPIC President Elizabeth Littlefield

On October 21, AMCHAM Myanmar hosted a briefing given by Elizabeth Littlefield, the president of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) at the Sedona Hotel. OPIC, which is the U.S. government�s development finance institution, has announced last summer the first OPIC financing in Myanmar, a $250 million loan to Yangon-based Apollo Towers Myanmar Limited. The event, which capped the first trip to Myanmar by the head of OPIC, was presided by the U.S. Ambassador, Mr. Scot Marciel, and attended by more than seventy businessmen and women, journalists and leaders of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).
