Twelve major American firms participated in the American Trade Mission to Myanmar to explore investment and trade opportunities in the country on April 20-30.
April 29-30, Yangon � Twelve major American firms participated in the American Trade Mission to Myanmar to explore investment and trade opportunities in the country.
The two-day trade mission, hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (AMCHAM Myanmar) in partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service in Myanmar, provided delegates with key market briefings, engagements with senior government officials, one-on-one meetings with potential local partners, networking opportunities, and factory visits.
U.S. Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Scot Marciel, led the trade mission. In a meeting with UMFCCI on Tuesday, Ambassador Marciel commented that �U.S. companies are responding to economic reforms in Myanmar.�
Participating companies covered a range of sectors from ICT, financial services, and franchising, to machinery, oil and gas, water treatment, environmental services, and aviation.
The objective of the Trade Mission was to give visiting American companies an informative glimpse into the Myanmar business environment and connect them with potential local business partners.
