AMCHAM Myanmar Recognizes Top CSR Programs

November 21, Yangon � The American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (AMCHAM Myanmar) honored its members' corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs at a ceremony held on November 21 at Chatrium Royal Lake Yangon, presided over by U.S. Ambassador to Myanmar, Scot Marciel. The second annual AMCHAM CSR Excellence (ACE) Awards recognized 16 companies for their exemplary CSR programs and their dedication to investing in and improving the communities where they operate. AMCHAM Myanmar promotes the positive impact AMCHAM Myanmar member companies make by committing long-term economic and social benefits to their local communities, and encourages companies to uphold the highest business standards and operate in accordance with AMCHAM's Universal Business Principles. Ambassador Scot Marciel congratulated the recognition recipients and said "I'd like to congratulate AmCham Myanmar and its members for their service to the community through their CSR programs in key areas such as micro-finance for women in rural areas, clean water, healthcare initiatives and vocational skills training among many others. American investors not only bring jobs, capacity building, best practices and technology, they also support communities as good neighbors and responsible investors".
