AMCHAM MYANMAR AND WORLD BANK DISCUSS OBSTACLES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN MYANMAR’S FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRY

AMCHAM Myanmar, in collaboration with the World Bank, successfully hosted a webinar on “Transforming Myanmar’s Food Processing Industry: Obstacles and Opportunities” on May 25, bringing together members for an insightful discussion on the evolving landscape and future potential of Myanmar’s agrifood processing sector.

AMCHAM Myanmar extends its sincere appreciation to the World Bank Myanmar team — Anne Tully, Country Manager; Kemoh Mansaray, Senior Economist; and Valens Mwumvaneza, Senior Agriculture Specialist — for their comprehensive presentation of the report findings. We also warmly thank our distinguished discussants, Wai Phyo, Managing Director of Myanmar Zarla Distribution Co., Ltd, and Zeyar Chit, Country Head of Public Affairs at Coca-Cola Pinya Beverages Myanmar Ltd., for sharing valuable industry perspectives, practical experiences, and reflections on opportunities within Myanmar’s food processing sector.

Thank you to all participants for contributing to a thoughtful and engaging exchange. Participants may access the presentation materials here. AMCHAM Myanmar looks forward to continuing dialogue that supports evidence-based policy discussions and private sector development in Myanmar.
