On May 25 and 26, a business delegation led by the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (AMCHAM Myanmar) visited Mandalay and met with the Mandalay government officials.
AMCHAM Business Delegation Visits Mandalay to Explore Investment Opportunities On May 25 and 26, a business delegation led by the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (AMCHAM Myanmar) visited Mandalay and met with the Mandalay government officials to discuss opportunities for collaboration to encourage increased investment and trade with Mandalay.�The delegation was comprised of representatives from a number of companies including: British American Tobacco; Capital Automotive; Coca-Cola; Four Rivers; General Electric; Global Technology Group; Han Golf Masters; Heil Trailer Asia; Heritage Capital Investment; KBZ Bank; Myan Shwe Pyi Tractors; Novotel Yangon Max; and Thiha Group.�The delegation met with H.E. Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Chief Minister of Mandalay Region, U Ye Lwin, Mayor of Mandalay City Development Committee, U Aung Than, Chair of the Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MRCC) and their Executive Committee members, and Mandalay Region ministers. The agenda also included a business matching networking event in partnership with MRCC and an exploration trip to Mandalay Myotha Industrial Park.�As the second largest city in Myanmar and with a population of over 1.2 million people, Mandalay is a strategic gateway between India, China and Thailand�, commented Andrew Lee, AMCHAM Myanmar Executive Committee member and Country Manager for GE. �The mission enabled AMCHAM members to get an on the ground view of the business potential of Mandalay�.The trip resulted in the establishment of the Mandalay Advisory Council, a body comprised of business and Government representatives designed to develop Mandalay into an attractive destination for American investment.
