Pink Headed Duck Coffee is a New Orleans-based green coffee importer focused on creating a direct link between Myanmar’s specialty coffee growers and North American buyers. Named after the once-extinct duck believed to still roam the wetlands of northern Myanmar, Pink Headed Duck first began as a boutique cafe on the shores of Indawgyi Lake, Kachin State, before migrating to the U.S. to continue telling the story of Myanmar specialty coffee.

We believe the coffee value chain remains a key factor in responsibly supporting smallholders and cooperatives across the country while also bringing greater visibility internationally to Myanmar as a whole. Since our first import in 2022, we have connected 15 communities in Shan State producing Specialty Arabica coffee with over 25 coffee roasters in the U.S. and Canada.

Beyond this, Pink Headed Duck has invested in Myanmar’s first Fine Robusta coffee pilot project at Indawgyi Lake since 2019 with beginner processing and organizational capacity trainings, marketing and research activities, and Robusta coffee expansion programs and infrastructure development.
