Job Description
- Fulfill PMI objective to export the PMI products to foreign countries via distributors.
- Spearhead new product development projects and business development initiatives to drive PMI growth.
- Select and appoint distributors in overseas markets with full agency model in the foreseeable future, making sure that the distributors in those countries can ably take care of importation, sales, marketing, distribution, etc. of PMI products.
- Manage the market survey, business analytics, and product portfolio planning for commercialization in selected countries.
- Evaluate and decide which products to export with well-defined business strategy capitalizing on business opportunities.
- Expand PMI branded pharmaceutical and other healthcare products in potential overseas markets through PPUSA and other affiliate companies of Pacific AA Group
- Negotiate commercial terms such as contract terms, payment terms, shipping, logistic matters, and relevant trading provisions.
- Understand the drug, health, and trade regulatory requirements of each country where PMI has business presence and where it intends to expand.
- Set target for distributors; apply necessary business tools to distributors to make sure the reach, coverage, sales & marketing activities of each distributor is good enough to increase the sales of PMI products.
- Drive profitable growth year-on-year by significantly outperforming the covered market in each country.
- Exhibit and apply necessary expertise in international trading and distributor management matters.
- Prepare budgets, sales projections, financial analysis and return on investment for each country.
- Create project plan, strategy and timeline for product launching for each country.
- Prepare partnership and commercial agreement for business partners, and distributors in each country.
- Coordinate with regulatory affairs, for product dossiers, label and package design and manage the timeline until completion.
- Coordinate supply chain activities related to business development efforts such as organizing freight forwarders, clearance agents and insurance providers for product shipping.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities, including new product development, new therapeutic areas to develop and new business extensions.
- Timely reporting and accurate recognition of trends and issues that mean a change in course is required, responding with speed and flexibility to get buy-in of Management, and seizing opportunities that are in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Lead short and long-range planning for the business of defined markets in each country.
- Ensure that the ethical standards and compliance to Corporate SOPs and local regulations are met in each market.
- Ensuring the alliances and partnerships are in alignment with the corporate objectives
- Perform other relevant business development projects that may be required from time to time as deemed by Management.
Job Requirements
- Ability to chart out an operations plan for each business development plan against cost, quality and timeliness criteria,
- Ability to develop market specific business plans based on key products, market environment and the competitive landscape, including new product / market initiatives
- Ability to optimize financial investments based on ROI metrics, and the use of performance dashboards
- Ability to Persuasively gain buy-in from all internal and external stakeholders, and
- Ability to establish operating mechanisms and integrate the functions and geographies.
- Fast learner, open to change and ambiguity that comes with business development initiatives that will eventually be a fast- growing revenue stream for PMI
- Ability to inspire diverse teams across different markets and channelize their collective energy to meet organizational goals,
- Ability to effectively communicate the business development plans of the organization to all internal stakeholders and gaining buy-in,
- Ability to drive development, training and mentoring of his/her team to meet business objectives
- Ability to establish new alliances, partnerships & identifying potential business partnership and alliance targets to ensure a complete / appropriate portfolio of products,
- Ability to demonstrate the stature and judgement to effectively represent the Company in dealings with alliance partners and at government platforms in different countries.
- Has through knowledge about import/export, trade terms, supply chain logistics, regulatory affairs in pharmaceuticals and healthcare.
- Excellent in distributor management, and also highly skilled and experienced as a key representative of the Company in international medical, and trade conferences & exhibitions
- Master’s degree (scientific field or in business) or
- At least 15 years of management experience, preferably in country manager capacity
- Proven experience in new product development and business expansion in several countries.
