Job Description

Accountable for all aspects of the engineering function of a large pharmaceutical manufacturing site (including but not limited to):

  • Co-ordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Direct, review, and approve project design and changes.
  • Manage all aspects of safety on the site to ensure that employees operate within a safe working environment
  • Monthly reporting of departmental metrics
  • Execute all engineering actions to maintain a GMP-compliant facility
  • Manage the spare parts inventory related to all manufacturing equipment
  • Execute all engineering-related projects in line with expectations of delivering the projects on time, on budget, and within compliance.
  • Accountable for the maintenance and safe operation of all utilities on site including boilers, RO water plant, mains water supply, electricity distribution system and compressed air.
  • Maintaining accurate records to reflect the maintenance and up-keep of the facility.
  • Management of staff development, objective setting and performance assessments 
  • Liaising with key external stakeholders to maintain compliance across all our infrastructure utilities.
  • Support the procurement process to ensure good governance 
  • Responsible of the project management cycle against GMP expectations.
  • Ad-hoc engineering-related activities as and when required.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 
  • At least 10 years of Engineering management experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience as an engineering manager.
  • Proven experience in managing the engineering function of a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
  • Communication skills for overseeing staff and working with other management personnel.
  • Detail-oriented for understanding complex systems and the ability to pay attention to details, as a minor error can result in major problems.
  • Math skills, including calculus and other advanced mathematics for developing new processes and products.
