Job Description
- Purpose of the role is to deliver sales of the company’s products in the Myanmar market. Focus area will mainly be in the Myanmar market with some other targeted countries as identified.
- Responsible for all business development initiatives in Myanmar and other countries as identified
- Promote and initiate B2B sales in the local market by active engagement with potential customers across the B2B network.
- Negotiate and construct non-disclosure agreements and sales contracts with customers based on private label, contract manufacturing or contract testing services or other.
- Spearhead new product development projects and business development initiatives to drive PMI growth.
- Select and appoint distributors in local and targeted overseas markets with full agency model in the foreseeable future, making sure that the distributors in Myanmar and other identified countries can ably take care of importation, sales, marketing, distribution, etc. of PMI products.
- Manage the market survey, business analytics, and product portfolio planning for commercialization in selected countries.
- Evaluate and decide which products to export with well-defined business strategy capitalizing on business opportunities.
- Negotiate commercial terms such as contract terms, payment terms, shipping, logistic matters, and relevant trading provisions.
- Understand the drug, health, and trade regulatory requirements of Myanmar and identified overseas markets.

- Set target for distributors; apply necessary business tools to
- distributors to make sure the reach, coverage, sales & marketing activities of each distributor is good enough to increase the sales of PMI products.
- Management of information exchange between parties.
- Drive profitable growth year-on-year.
- Exhibit and apply necessary expertise in international trading and distributor management matters.
- Prepare budgets, sales projections, financial analysis and return on
- investment for each business development initiative.
- Create project plan, strategy and timeline for product launching for as required.
- Consult, initiate and co-ordinate product delivery through the PMI factory and supply chain and actively communicate with customers.
- Prepare partnership and commercial agreement for business partners, and distributors in Myanmar and each identified country.
- Coordinate with regulatory affairs, for product dossiers, label and package design and manage the timeline until completion.
- Coordinate supply chain activities related to business development efforts such as organizing freight forwarders, clearance agents and insurance providers for product shipping.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities, including new product development, new therapeutic areas to develop and new business extensions.
- Timely reporting and accurate recognition of trends and issues that mean a change in course is required, responding with speed and flexibility to get buy-in of Management, and seizing opportunities that are in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Lead short and long-range planning for the business of defined markets in each country.
- Ensure that the ethical standards and compliance to Corporate SOPs and local regulations are met in each market.
- Ensuring the alliances and partnerships are in alignment with the corporate objectives
- Report on a weekly and monthly basis the sales performance and pending issues to management and/or any KPI measures as defined by management.
- Lead and support all promotional activities including, but not limited to, overseas exhibitions, marketing and events related to either PMI or group promotional activities, etc.
- Perform other relevant business development projects that may be required from time to time as approved by Management.
Job Requirements
- Good B2B selling skills and general salesmanship
- Good negotiation capability
- Ability to negotiate best terms with customers
- Ability to draft quotation, including its terms and conditions
- Understand NDA agreements and requirements
- Understand Myanmar FDA approval submissions/processes, along with knowledge of regulatory affairs such as DRC, IR, DIAC, wholesale/retail licenses, etc.
- Working understanding of the MYN FDA and its compliance/regulatory processes including pharmaceutical standards and pharmacopeia.
- Basic terms and conditions that need to be part of a private label or contract manufacturing agreement.
- Basic knowledge of Purchase Order processes and pharmaceutical production processes.
- Knowledge of import license applications, procedures and processes.
- Understanding of local and international payment terms and Incoterms.
- Ability to chart out an operations plan for each business development initiative against cost, quality and timeliness criteria,
- Ability to develop market specific business plans based on key products, market environment and the competitive landscape, including new product / market initiatives
- Ability to optimize financial investments based on ROI metrics, and the use of performance dashboards
- Ability to Persuasively gain buy-in from all internal and external stakeholders, and
- Ability to establish operating mechanisms and integrate the functions and geographies.
- Fast learner, open to change and ambiguity that comes with business development initiatives that will eventually be a fast- growing revenue stream for PMI
- Ability to inspire diverse teams across different markets and channelize their collective energy to meet organizational goals,
- Ability to effectively communicate the business development plans of the organization to all internal stakeholders and gaining buy-in,
- Ability to drive development, training and mentoring of his/her team to meet business objectives
- Ability to establish new alliances, partnerships & identifying potential business partnership and alliance targets to ensure a complete / appropriate portfolio of products,
- Ability to demonstrate the stature and judgement to effectively represent the Company in dealings with alliance partners and at government platforms in different countries.
- Has through knowledge about import/export, trade terms, supply chain logistics, regulatory affairs in pharmaceuticals and healthcare.
- Excellent in distributor management, and also highly skilled and experienced as a key representative of the Company in international medical, and trade conferences & exhibitions
- Relevant and appropriate degree (scientific field or in business) or
- At least 10 years of management experience, preferably in country manager/business development capacity
- Proven experience in new product development and business development in Myanmar. Exposure to ASEAN countries business development an added advantage.
- Proven track record of improving sales and driving growth
