The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the
Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in cooperation
with the AMCHAM Myanmar chapter and AmCham Singapore are hosting a conference
on:
US-Myanmar Commercial Relations: The Next Phase
This conference will examine the current state of US-Myanmar economic
relations, the challenges posed by sanctions, and the broad array of economic
policy challenges and reform priorities facing the new NLD government.
The event will feature US and Myanmar business leaders and government
officials, and will focus on the continued normalization of the relationship,
and ways in which to expand trade and investment between the two
countries. The conference will feature
the release of a US Chamber white paper outlining a series of policy
recommendations for both the U.S. and Myanmar governments.
Panel discussions will feature topics such as financial deepening and
inclusion, boosting growth through technology and reliable energy supplies,
developing the rural economy, and an in-depth discussion of the continued
impact of sanctions, and what US companies and their Myanmar partners need to
know in order to be compliant with the remaining restrictions.
