Ambassador briefing where H.E. Scot
Marciel, U.S. Ambassador to Myanmar, will update AMCHAM members
on the current Myanmar economic and political environment. Following
Ambassador Marciel's briefing members will hear from Geoffrey Tan, OPIC Managing Director for Asia who
will provide an update about the new opportunities available as the
organization reforms into the U.S. International Development Finance
Corporation (DFC). Mr. Tan will explain the types of projects which the DFC
could support in Myanmar and also provide guidance on the criteria and process
to apply for DFC financing. Date and Time: September 12, 1:30

Ambassador Scot Marciel previously served as the Department of State’s
Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific
Affairs from August 2013-February 2016. Prior to his return to Washington, he
served as Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia. He was also Deputy Assistant
Secretary in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, where he was
responsible for relations with Southeast Asia, and as Ambassador for ASEAN
Affairs. Ambassador Marciel was confirmed as the U.S. Ambassador to the
Republic of the Union of Burma on February 9, 2016 by the U.S. Senate.About OPIC
