This event is fully booked.The Governor’s Dinner series at AMCHAM is an opportunity to network in an intimate setting and meet some of our Governors. The event will be limited to 14 guests to allow meaningful conversations and space considerations for social distancing. This is an opportunity for members to make valuable personal connections and cultivate new business relations. This event is first in a series where AMCHAM governors host AMCHAM members in a personalized dinner setting to talk about current events and to connect with other members. Join AMCHAM for an intimate dinner cruise onboard the Moken Cruise vessel along the Yangon River. Our Governor hosts for this inaugural event are Max Talcott, AMCHAM Myanmar Vice-President and Khin Maung Win, AMCHAM President. On board the Moken Cruise, we will enjoy a special dinner and cocktail pairing from the restaurant Gekko. The dinner experience includes canapés, a three-course plated dinner including dessert, and five expertly matched cocktails served throughout the evening. Guest of honor - Mr. James ApplegateJames Applegate is the Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at Embassy Rangoon.  James previously served as the head of the DPRK Unit and acted as Deputy Director of the Korea Desk.  He has also served in Guangzhou, Canberra, Kabul, the Operations Center, and at the U.S. Mission to the International Organizations in Vienna (UNVIE).  James holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in international economics and finance from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).  Prior to joining the Foreign Service, James served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Armenia and worked as an Emergency Medical Technician.  He is joined at Post by his tandem spouse, Chief of Mission OMS Sarah Boyke, and two children, Smith (3) and Iris (1).  James is a native of west Michigan.HostsKhin Maung Win (“Khin”) is the Chairman of Myan Shwe Pyi Group (“MSP Group”), in Yangon, Myanmar. Khin started his career working in construction and mining equipment industry in Singapore and Indonesia. In 1995, he returned to Myanmar and started the business supplying heavy equipment for infrastructure projects such as hydro-electric and irrigation dams, oil and gas pipelines and highways. The business expanded as Myan Shwe Pyi Group ("MSP Group") and became one of the largest aggregate suppliers in Myanmar. In 2011, the group's Myan Shwe Pyi Tractors Limited ("MSP CAT") became independent dealer for Caterpillar in Myanmar. Employing over 1,000 highly skilled employees, MSP is a leading company in electric power generation, service and supply of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines for transportation, agriculture, oil and gas industries. Khin Maung Win attended Medical University in Yangon and left in 1988 when Myanmar suspended all University education. Khin completed Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies from Singapore in 1993 and Executive Leadership Program “Digging Deep” organized by Caterpillar together with Stanford University in 2013. Khin is currently serving as the President of American Chamber of Commerce ("AMCHAM") in Myanmar, the President of Myanmar Cycling Federation, a Board Member of International Investors for Mineral Development Association ("IIMDA"), and as members of Myanmar National Olympic Committee and Asian Cycling Confederation Management Committee. Max Talcott joined RMA Group as the Country Manager for Myanmar in February 2020. Max is an experienced operations manager, highly proficient in implementation of projects that require sensitive negotiations with governments and adept at managing large teams. Prior to joining RMA, Max served as Managing Director one of the world’s leading government affairs and public policy firms focusing on the Asia Pacific. In this role he worked closely with large multinational companies in the across Asia Pacific and Myanmar. Max holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
