New Investment Law: Opportunities for Foreign Investors

-
The Legal Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar invite you to attend a meeting on “New Myanmar Investment Law: Opportunities for Foreign Investors” on Monday, 20 June 2016 at 8:30-9:30 am at DFDL’s office in Yangon. The legal environment of Myanmar is still in its early stages of reform and modernization. The Myanmar government has made progress and continues to draft new laws including the Investment Law.  The draft Investment Law is designed to replace the Foreign Investment Law of 2012 and the Myanmar Citizen Investment Law of 2013.  The law and its implementing regulations are of great importance for foreign companies investing in Myanmar. Following several rounds of public consultations on early drafts and posting on DICA’s website for comment, the government is in the process of finalizing the draft for submission to parliament. Therefore, your participation will be greatly valued as you will have an opportunity to provide your contributions on this important topic. About Speaker Charles Schneider Senior Operations Officer, International Finance Corporation, Myanmar Charles has worked for IFC in Myanmar since August 2012 when he relocated to Yangon to set up the first ever IFC office in Myanmar.
