Myanmar's New Competition Law commences

-
The much anticipated Myanmar Competition Law, which was passed in February 2015, finally came into force on 24 February, 2017. Although further rules under the law are still to be released, the law itself is now in effect. Businesses should be aware that any breaches of the law committed between commencement of the law and the passing of the rules can still be prosecuted in the future. A Myanmar Competition Commission will be established to handle complaints and ensure enforcement. Until the commission is fully formed, violations can be reported to the Ministry of Commerce. Join this talk by Jo Daniels, Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie in Yangon, to learn more about the key elements you need to know about this law and the steps you can take to assure your business is in compliance.
