-
The Myanmar Banking Conference (MBC)
will be returning to Yangon for the 4th time from 28 - 29 June 2016.
The 2015 edition brought together close to 300 decision makers from 13 different
countries with the common goal of understanding what opportunities Myanmar has
to offer. We had the honour of having H.E. U Myint Swe, Chief Minister, Yangon
Region Government and H.E. Daw San San New, Minister, Ministry of Finance,
Revenue, Immigration and Information grace the event as guests-of-honour.
Over the last couple of years since it opened its doors, Myanmar has
progressively laid a firm foundation for political stability as it approaches
the upcoming November Elections. The world watches this important milestone
closely, even as Myanmar continues on its journey to woo foreign investments.
The further strengthening of its financial system with the new stock exchange
set to open its doors in December 2015; the alignment of banking regulations
with international standards and compliance; the issuance of anti-money
laundering guidelines in October 2015, are just some examples of how the
banking sector in Myanmar is continuing to evolve and grow. Don’t miss the
boat. Jump onto the ship if you haven’t already done so.
The stage is set for the next wave of economic growth in Myanmar. Local banks
will have to continually be kept up to speed in order to capitalize on this
wave. For 2016, we have lined up a series of training clinics designed to address
the prevalent challenges the local bankers are facing, in areas like risk
management and technology. We hereby extend a warm welcome for you to join us
once again in Yangon, 28 – 29 June 2016 at the Myanmar Banking and Finance
Conference 2016 – the mainstay event in Myanmar’s banking landscape. Register
