About the speakers and moderator
Kenneth See (speaker)
Kenneth is a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group of Baker McKenzie Yangon. His practice is focused on M&As and corporate/commercial transactions. He also advises on general corporate law and other Myanmar-based regulatory and compliance issues. Kenneth joins Baker McKenzie Yangon following a six-year stint with Yoma Strategic Holdings Ltd., where he was most recently the Managing Counsel of Group Legal. In this role, he led a 20-member legal and corporate secretarial team that supported corporate functions and business operations across the group's various segments including real estate, automotive, agriculture, healthcare, tourism and consumer products.
Chadd Concepcion (speaker)
Chadd re-joined Baker McKenzie after relocating to Myanmar in 2015 as a legal consultant. Prior to this move, he was with Baker McKenzie's Manila office where he was part of the Intellectual Property and Information Technology Practice Group since 2011. Chadd returned to the Baker McKenzie Yangon's Corporate and Intellectual Property Practice Groups with the Yangon office, focusing on brand protection, trademark portfolio management, and general corporate secretarial services advisory work. He also advises in the government, infrastructure, telecommunications, data privacy and regulatory compliance space.
Andre Gan (moderator)
Andre is the Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie Yangon. He is a corporate, commercial and securities lawyer and his practice areas cover mergers & acquisitions, corporate securities, venture capital and private equity, and competition. He has been acknowledged by Chambers Asia Pacific as a Band 1 practitioner for Corporate/M&A in Malaysia (2016- 2020), and also as a recognised competition practitioner. Andre has undertaken numerous local and cross-border transactions relating to private M&A and public company take-overs and acquisitions, initial public offerings, placements, joint ventures, strategic alliances and other business combinations. He has acted on numerous M&A transactions involving auction sales, representing both bidders and vendors in industries such as insurance, banking, oil & gas, oleochemicals and manufacturing. Andre regularly acts on cross-border M&A in the region and has led and coordinated many multi-jurisdictional transactions.
