With the adoption of a new
Employment and Skill Development Law (Law no. 29/2013), and Ministry of Labor's
Notification 1/2015, the very outdated labor law environment finally has
started to change. This intensive,
hands-on seminar will give a solid overview of all aspects of HR in today's
Myanmar from both the standpoint of the employer and of the employee. Whether
you're a recently appointed HR manager, are new to HR, have a non-HR job with
HR responsibilities, or are a consultant, this course can give you the know-how
you need in order to understand essential HR functions and to know how to
develop an action plan targeted to your organization's needs.
This comprehensive seminar delivers an in-depth analysis of the current state
of the HR law and practice in Myanmar, and identifies future trends, from
issues of employee vs. contractor status, foreigner vs. citizen employment and
registration requirements, term contracts versus unlimited contracts, minimum
compensation vs. contract compensation, taxes and fees, probation periods,
working hours and overtime pay, holidays and vacation, and dismissal and
severance. Moreover, the seminar will address some of the other concerns which
are affecting labor and employment in Myanmar, such as compliance matters, FCPA
and corruption, permits and registration, etc.
The second part of the seminar will deal with the recently released West
Indochina's The Myanmar Compensation Report and its companion, The Myanmar
Welfare & Benefits Report. David Binnion will be speaking about these
documents, which are ground-breaking in Myanmar (the first of their kind!).
Furthermore, West Indochina will offer to all registered participants a unique
AMCHAM discount for purchasing these reports.
