The Myanmar government has been steadily working on adopting new investment and corporate rules which will create a better level playing field for all investors, foreign and domestic. Among many accomplishments, the new Myanmar Investment Law was approved in October 2016. The much-anticipated Myanmar Investment Rules, the Negative List of Business Activities and Promoted Sectors List, are to be approved by April 2017. Furthermore, the next stage of regulatory reform is the redrafting of the Myanmar Company Law, which will replace a 100-years old law. The draft bill has been submitted to the Hluttaw Joint Bill Committee for comment, and will be discussed at its next session in June. Please join us for a breakfast meeting with DG U Aung Naing Oo. About the Speaker: Since 2012, U Aung Naing Oo is Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) under the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development. U Aung Naing Oo was in military service from 1981 to 2000. He was appointed as Deputy General Manager of the Myanmar Agricultural Produce Trading under the Ministry of Commerce from 2000 to 2005. In 2005, he was promoted as a General Manager of the Export Department of the same ministry. In 2006, he was appointed as Principal Officer (Deputy Director General) at the Ministers Office of the Ministry of Commerce and latter in 2010, he served as a Deputy Director General of the Department of Border Trade under the Ministry of Commerce. In May 2011, U Aung Naing Oo became Deputy Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) under the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development. In 2012, he has been promoted and became Director General of the DICA. "
