Anirban Basu is Abbott’s Country Manager for Myanmar and Cambodia.  He was appointed to this role in March 2022. 

Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, Anirban served as the Global Innovation Director for Danone. 

Anirban has 17 years of experience in FMCG/ Nutrition in Pacific Asia, having lived and worked in countries like India, Myanmar and Thailand. Prior to joining Abbott, Anirban has worked with leading companies like GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), PepsiCo and Danone – spanning various roles across Sales, Marketing, Innovation and General Management functions. He is passionate about building talents, brands and business models, and believes that businesses should work as a sustainable force-for-good for the communities wherein they operate. 

Apart from work, Anirban is passionate about supporting affected families as a cancer activist. He also takes keen interest in delivering pro-bono courses and guest lectures at various universities, mentoring young students and entrepreneurs. A sportsperson and family man at heart, Anirban spends his weekends playing club-level cricket or spending quality time with his wife and 2 young daughters. 

Anirban holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Delhi and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (India).
