Job Purpose

The role holder will act as business supportive and risk disciplined individual who provides oversight to the enterprise- wide risk management strategy and framework that effectively translates the risk appetite framework into informed decision-making practices that support the bank business model and strategic plan. The role holder is also responsible for supporting the bank’s strategies and initiatives to provide an effective and engaging digital customer onboarding experience, expand the agent and merchant networks, and drive the usage of mobile and digital applications, in order to achieve economic and social development in Myanmar through nation-wide financial inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of relevant policies and processes and provides all necessary support to the VCGMs and other Function Heads to facilitate and drive KBZ’s strategy of achieving nation-wide financial inclusion.
  • Ensure that sound credit risk measurement and monitoring frameworks are - Lead initiatives for development of methodologies for measurement of Retail Credit Portfolio Management across the Bank.
  • To develop and enhance the Retail Credit Reporting & Monitoring framework which meets the requirements of various external & internal stakeholders and to ensure a robust and independent underwriting, approval and portfolio review process that is aligned with Board approved Risk Posture and Risk Appetite.
  • Keep abreast of market and regulatory developments that could impact underwriting standards and asset quality. Make recommendations for changes in the various Tools as required.
  • Ensure appropriate application and usage of the Joint Delegated Approval Framework.
  • Manage underwriting and portfolio quality by working closely with related VCGMs to ensure Tools are understood and implemented.
  • Work closely and constructively with key stakeholders by building strong relationships.
  • Ensure credit approvals are done in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the credit processes and credit underwriting is fully compliance with internal approved procedures and policies according to the bank’s overall risk policy framework.
  • To engage with internal/external audits as well as regulators.
  • To develop MIS reports to monitor the delinquency patterns and recovery of portfolio for the bank as a whole.
  • To collaborate in the development of the new product program (NPP) and Product Enhancement Programs.
  • To develop recovery policies and procedures for the reduction of NPLs on both secured and unsecured loan portfolio.
  • To liaise in the litigation and out of court settlement strategies development.
  • Identify the potential risk factors along the way of product program implementation and initiate the modifications in need.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in related filed.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management, banking products, banking operation, related rule and regulations and ability to articulate risk to non-risk personnel.
  • Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong inter-personal relationship.
  • Minimum 10-15 years’ work experience in credit risk management, preferable with experience in Financial Institution.
