AMCHAM Myanmar welcomes President Obama's announcement on the prospective lifting of the U.S. Burma Sanctions. This step will significantly decrease the complexities and risks of doing business in Myanmar and will open a space for broader economic investment in the country and more inclusive economic growth that would benefit the Myanmar people.  As a work in progress, we hope that it will be followed through by the required congressional action, as well as by the next administration and Congress.

On the eve of its third anniversary, AMCHAM Myanmar is prepared for renewed interest from U.S. companies looking to do business in the newly-opened market. We serve as a clearinghouse providing information on business entry and investment climate and offering networking and business matching opportunities. We are also proud to invest in Myanmar society by offering scholarships to the country’s next generation of leaders.
